Folder/Gluer Operator

 

 

            We are currently seeking an experienced Folder/Gluer Operator (Bobst preferred) who would be responsible for mechanically adjusting and setting up equipment according to the job ticket specifications.  Maintaining and operating gluing machines (s) at the required production speeds while controlling quality, waste, safety and housekeeping standards.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to run Bobst, International, straight-line, auto bottom, International right angles, 4-corner, 6-corner, and special projects.

 

            Essential Functions:

·      Set up job according to job ticket instruction and approved structure.

·      Review job tickets for specifications, set-up time, run speed, labels, folding orientation, skid size, skid heights, quantity, ship date and any special instructions.

·      Run equipment at the required speeds while maintaining quality, waste and safety standards.

·      Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to job, position and department.

·      Monitor production schedules checking for current job and next scheduled job.

·      Use hand tools as needed to form cartons correctly.

·      Perform computer input operations as needed to form cartons correctly.

·      Troubleshoot and solve operating problems.

·      Verify feeder, packer and pad-lockers have the proper materials.

·      Complete all production reports and/or log books.

·      Verify that the Pecas counts and reports match the machine counts and reports.  Make amendments to Pecas as deeded for accuracy.

·      Prepare for future runs to enable quick and efficient set-up.

·      Aid other operators and assist feeders and packers as needed.

·      Perform routine and preventive maintenance including lubrication and repairs to equipment except for electrical problems.

·      Maintain general knowledge and understanding of gluing processes and equipment.

·      Observe all safety rules and procedures.

·      Maintain records as required on a daily basis.

·      Keep work area neat and clean

·      Perform other job duties as assigned.

                   

         

          Job Requirements & Qualifications

·      At least three years’ experience as a Folding Carton Gluing Operator  (Bobst preferred) required

·      High School diploma or GED

·      The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

·      Experience with a quality system (i.e. ISO) preferred

·      Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.

·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·      Must be a self-starter and independently driven.

·      Flexible schedule to accommodate overtime and off-shifts as needed.

·      Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

·      Must be able to meet the demands of a fast paced production environment.

Second Pressman

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Offset Second Pressman (Komori and /or KBA experience preferred) to join our team.  The person in this critical role must support the Head Pressman with set-up and operation of the printing press.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·        Feeds paperboard into press

·        Maintains paperstock, ink and plates for press operations

·        Assist with make readies

·        Bend plates for the press

·        Must have the ability to run the printing press to back-up the head pressman.

·        Produce a quality print run that meets Carpark’s quality standards

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

·        High School Diploma or GED required

·        Basic math and reading skills

·        Strong computer skills

·        Minimum of two years’ experience with setup and operation of offset printing press.

·        Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal) with a professional demeanor.

·        Detailed oriented

·        Excellent team approach to problem solving.

·        Strong mechanical aptitude

·        Flexible Schedule to accommodate overtime and off-shifts as needed.

Thermoforming Operator

 

CardPak, Inc. a leading manufacturer of paperboard packaging materials located in Solon, Ohio, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Thermoforming Operator. CardPak is a 13-time winner of the NorthCoast 99 award honoring the 99 best places to work in Northeast Ohio.      

 

We are seeking an experienced thermoforming machine operator.  The ideal candidate will have experience in thin gauge (10 to 15 mil PVC, PET, & RPET) thermoforming of blisters and clamshells; and working knowledge in all aspects of thermoforming including tooling design, machine set-up and maintenance.  Sencorp thermoforming machine experience preferred. 

Qualified candidates must have thermoforming experience; a High School Diploma or GED, good communication and interpersonal skills; familiarity with a quality system (i.e. ISO) a plus; flexibility to accommodate different shifts & overtime, as needed; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; and able to meet the demands of a fast-paced production environment.

Die Cutter Operator


 Experience preferred, but will train the right candidate! 
 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Bobst Die Cutter Operator. Primary responsibilities include: Prepare the Bobst Die Cutter for production by locking up tooling; performing patch-up and regulating level cutting; ensuring proper creasing, perforating and print to cut register. Prepare blanker and striping units for jobs. Perform quality check; perform preventative maintenance.

Requirements include: a High School Diploma or GED, mechanical ability; familiarity with a quality system (i.e. ISO) preferred; flexibility with regard to shifts & overtime; able to meet the demands of a fast-paced production environment.  Working knowledge of the packaging industry is a plus.
